3. Michelle L’Amour (Miss Exotic World ‘05)

“I had the utmost pleasure of crowning Miss Michelle L’Amour Miss Exotic World 2005.  She took my crown and deserved the hell out of it.  Since that time, I have been able to get to know the Ass that Goes Pow! quite intimately and was able to present her as the first ever winner of my ridiculous Miss Globes competition.

She not only knocked the audience dead, but laughed along with us as we sent up the concept of burlesque competitions in fine style.  She’s a silky and refined performer with a fabulous sense of humor and I wish she would come and live next door to me!”

The Ass that goes POW! has shimmied her way to No. 3!

Adored by men and women alike; Michelle exudes a sexual energy and strength on stage that stirs her audience into a frenzy. We have rarely met a woman who is so innately comfortable with her nudity and manipulates her flesh with such devastating effect!

What a year Michelle has had! We have enjoyed stunning new acts, including ‘The Most Naked Woman‘ and a scintillating, evocative Tango; and we had the honour of witnessing Michelle and Franky’s wedding from a few feet away - a touching, emotional occasion.

It was a delight to sit down with Michelle a day or two afterwards and enjoy an in-depth conversation about her early life and her work today (the baby photos are sooo cute too!)

Here is a classic Michelle routine that we never tire of. (Watch out for her legendary endless shimmy-fest; it is a phenomenon that has audiences foaming at the mouth!)

Once she leaves the stage, Michelle just doesn’t stop. She is a gifted teacher, with a long line of grateful, adoring women who have taken to the stage themselves, or gone back out into the world with a renewed confidence and self-belief. Her troupe, The Chicago Starlets, compete at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekends.

The L’Amour empire has produced videos, photobooks, and a series of popular shows and events, including a new venture in 2009 - Naked Girls Reading, which is enjoying huge success, with evenings being arranged in cities all over America.

Michelle caught the eye and the hearts of the mainstream public when she performed on America’s Got Talent in 2006. She is often interviewed and invited as a speaker to discuss her views on women, self-esteem, sexuality and body image.

A burlesque heroine and fearless entertainer - Michelle is destined to be one of the great, celebrated legends of striptease…
